Children's Book Writer and Illustrator
Not very good. All the action is on the left hand side of the page, and nobody knew that the giant thing at the top was a paint brush.
This is a finished illustration. It's okay, but I know I can do better.
So I went back to the drawing board and did this:
I recently took a two-day watercolor workshop with the great E.B. Lewis. He was generous with his vast experience of having illustrated over 70 books. At the end of the workshop, he gave us a one word assignment: LOST.
He told us to do a sketch and then a final painting and that we could submit them to him for critique. Here is an early sketch.
